About PerformOS
An AI performance operating system for basketball players.
The problem
Ask a general AI assistant for a training plan and you get three sets of ten squats. It does not know you sprained your ankle a fortnight ago, that your gym has no squat rack, that you have court access on Tuesdays and Thursdays, or that you played a game on Saturday and your legs are still gone.
Ask a workout app and you get the same programme it gives everyone, with your name at the top.
Meanwhile a real strength coach — someone who watches how you move, remembers what you did last week, and changes the plan when you turn up tired — costs more per month than most players can spend in a year.
What we are building
PerformOS keeps a persistent model of you: your goals, your injuries, the equipment you actually have, when you can actually train, and everything you have actually done. It writes a week around that, and then it watches what happens.
When you log four days of high soreness, the rest of the week gets lighter and you are told why. When you report an injury, every movement that would aggravate it disappears from your plan — not as a suggestion, but as a rule the system cannot break.
That last part is the piece we care most about. Every generated plan passes through deterministic safety checks before you see it: no contraindicated movements, no equipment you do not own, no heavy legs the day before a game, no week that ramps load faster than is sensible. The AI proposes. Code decides whether it is safe.
What it is not
It is not a workout generator, a step counter, or a calorie diary. It is not medical advice, and it does not pretend to replace a physiotherapist or a doctor.
It is also not finished. We are early, we are building in the open, and the fastest way to change what gets built next is to tell us what is wrong with it.
Where this is going
Basketball first, because that is the sport we know and because doing one sport properly beats doing five badly. The architecture has seams for others, and we will use them when the first one is genuinely good.
Beyond that: nutrition that understands what is actually available and affordable where you live, and a coach you can ask questions of that already knows your history — rather than one you have to explain yourself to every time.
Who is behind it
PerformOS is built by Zuhair Ahmad. If you email us, that is who replies.
